Dinard

Dinard (Dinarzh in Breton and Dinard in Gallo) is a French commune, located in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine and the Brittany region. It is a famous seaside resort, among the British.

The inhabitants are Dinardais and Dinardaises.

The seaside resort of Dinard, the 7th most populous town of Ille-et-Vilaine, is located on the Emerald Coast, close to the border with Côtes-d'Armor and the city of Saint-Malo (where Rance is the separation). This is the tidal Rance, technological prowess in the 1960s and tourist Mecca, which connects the City Dinard and Capri.

Dinard is the center of the 4th department of the town, which has 21 401 inhabitants in 1999 with Pleurtuit, Saint-Lunaire, La Richardais, Saint-Briac-sur-Mer and 25 006 inhabitants with the Côtes-d'Armor (Lancieux and Ploubalay).

Nearby are the Anglo-Norman Islands within one hour of high-speed boat from Saint-Malo or 15 minutes by plane from the airport of Dinard Pleurtuit Saint-Malo. Access to Dinard is fast through free and expressways linking the TGV Saint-Malo to Paris in less than 3 hours. The four main beaches of the city are the beaches of the Priory, the Lock, San Énogat and Port-Blanc. There are other beaches, unsupervised and smaller, accessible via the coastal road linking the Port-au Prieuré Blanc (beaches of the Falkland Islands, Port-Riou, Notre-Dame-du-Roc ...)
